Satellite Network Test Solution
Product Introduction
Providing C-band to Ka/Q/V-band communication satellite payload testing, supporting test items such as EIRP, PIM, SPFD, G/T, air interface and overall satellite self-compatibility testing; at the meanwhile have the ability to test the antenna pattern of communication satellites and support the automatic processing and analysis of the test data of the antenna pattern.
The compact range system has a small footprint, multiple testing functions and high testing efficiency. It can be directly constructed in the spacecraft system assembly facility or R&D centre, supporting multiple indicators of the satellite payload testing. It has the test ability in multiple frequency bands, greatly improving the testing efficiency.
Application Background
Due to the gradual saturation of the traditional C/Ku frequency bands, the Ka, Q/V and other millimeter-wave frequency bands have become the mainstream. The complexity of antenna design has significantly increased, and the requirements for far-field distance have multiplied. Therefore, the compact range system has become a key means for evaluating the performance of high-frequency antennas.
After the satellites are assembled, it is necessary to test the performance of the entire satellite antenna under the real installation configuration. Traditional near-field or far-field tests can’t fully simulate the electromagnetic environment of the entire satellite in orbit. The compact range system allows for the completion of full-system testing in anechoic chamber, avoiding the accumulation of errors caused by component testing.
Satellite networks such as Starlink and StarNet have successively launched their plans. The constellation scale is large and the demand for whole-satellite testing has increased. This requires a low-cost and high-efficiency solution for ground testing. Traditional far-field testing is difficult to meet the verification requirements for batch production.
The compact range system can verify key indicators such as EIRP and G/T, and also has the function of passive intermodulation (PIM) testing. It covers the key testing requirements for the electrical performance of the payload, ensuring stable operation of the payload during its service period.
Technical features
● Supports testing of used C/Ku/Ka/Q/V frequency bands for satellite communication.
● Entire satellite capability: Accommodate entire satellites or large antenna systems and test antenna performance under real installation configurations.
● Customized functional services: Feed rotator, DUT rotator, test algorithms, and data analysis modules can be customized. Sequent upgrades can be made according to different satellite models or testing standards.
● Efficient automatic testing system: Multiple feed arrays combined with multi-axis rotator and an automated software platform enable testing of multiple frequency bands, automated scanning, data acquisition and real-time analysis.
● Multi-dimensional dynamic testing: The test rotator supports multi-dimensional rotation of azimuth, elevation and roll angles, combined with dynamic signal sources to simulate the performance of the antenna in its orbital motion state (such as beam switching and pointing tracking).
