Product Description
A single parabolic reflector, which is parabolic in only one direction and cylindrical in the other. The compact field using this reflector has electromagnetic characteristics completely different from those of a parabolic compact field.
The single parabolic compact field uses a parabolic cylinder to correct the spherical wave emitted by the feed into a cylindrical wave.
Due to the diffusion effect of the cylindrical wave, its advantage is that it has a very high aperture utilization coefficient, approximately between 120% and 150%.
The transverse size of the quiet zone is comparable to or even larger than the size of the reflector, which is quite advantageous for testing large-sized targets. However, since its quiet zone is not a uniform plane wave, the test results need to be corrected to obtain the far-field pattern.
The single parabolic compact field is mainly used to test large-sized targets. Using a single parabolic compact field is equivalent to using a far-field method on one surface and a near-field method on the other perpendicular surface. This compromise greatly reduces the high cost of parabolic compact fields.
